St Mary’s swimmers win medals

WAVERLEY – Both swimmers also made South African regional junior times.

St Mary’s Waverley learners Maya Mgcina and Caitlyn Dube competed at level 3 at the regional swimming championships, producing excellent results.

Maya, who is in Grade 6, swam in the age 11 category in 11 events, making 11 finals in which she received six medals – one gold, two silvers and three bronzes. All of her races were personal best times.

Caitlyn swam in the age 13 category in 12 events, making nine finals and receiving two medals – one silver and one bronze. In all of her races, she also achieved personal best times.
