TAHIRA TOFFAH: I will spend the entire day with my family because I have been working so hard lately, and it will be good to reflect on the country's journey, how far we have come as a country since our freedom in 1994.
Freedom Day is commemorated on April 27. The day is marked as a public holiday in celebration of the long struggle for democracy in South Africa.
The Rosebank Killarney Gazette took to the streets to ask people what their plans were for Freedom Day.
CYNTHIA THUSI: I will celebrate the day at the market by selling my beautiful TLOU collections made out of recycled material.
THABO KWENAITE: I will hang out with my friends and have drinks and a braai.
CLIVE TSIMBA: I will be at a Tat urbanism event somewhere in Orange Farm or Soweto.
LINCOLN MATLALA: I am an art person, I will look for an art event and attend, then later go out with friends for drinks.
