Westdene local hot spot to offer a unique synthesis of food and entertainment

Emzini, which has captured the hearts of Westdene residents and established itself as the favourite neighbourhood meeting place, is introducing the ultimate feel-good, get-together experience from June 2 – Celebrity Singalong Thursdays.

Hosted by Lilian Khumalo of Madame Zingara fame, and renowned local performer and presenter Stephanie Baartman, guests are invited on a musical journey of everyone’s favourite tunes, from Abba and Aretha, Bob Marley and Miss Winehouse to the iconic Miriam Makeba and the inimitable Brenda Fassie.

Owners and business partners, Richard Griffin and Ziggy Ravuku, dreamed of a creative space for people to come together and enjoy not only dishes that are ‘always made with love’, but also a home-from-home where guests are able to relax, reconnect and recharge.

Their aim is to establish Thursday nights at Emzini as an inclusive venue for people to get together with friends and family, and to enjoy first-rate entertainment as well as a platform for new artists to debut their talent.

Best known as the creative force behind the inimitable dinner-theatre extravaganza, Madame Zingara, Griffin’s many followers will attest to his passion for creative cuisine and bringing people together and it therefore comes as no surprise that Emzini is no ordinary restaurant.

Which is why, if you venture into Emzini’s on a Thursday night, you shouldn’t expect to be home at a reasonable hour after a quick bite – it’s not that kind of evening.

There is no cover charge for Emzini’s Thursday Celebrity Singalong, simply book a table and enjoy inspired dishes from an eclectic a la carte menu or pre-order from set menus, so you can just relax and enjoy the evening.

A fully licensed bar is available and a roaring fireplace and fluffy blankets will keep you warm and toasty.
