Ladles of Love Sarmiethon distributed 74 760 sandwiches’ for World Sandwich Day

Ladles of Love distributed 4,5 million sandwiches since the Covid-19 pandemic.

To commemorate World Sandwich Day, NGO Ladles of Love organised an annual Sarmiethon at Old Eds in Houghton and Cape Town on November 3, which delivered a staggering 74 760 sandwiches to children in need.

The NGO’s COO, Candice Etberg, noted that the NGO invited different corporate companies every year to participate in the Sarmiethon, “It is also a team-building event and a competition as to who can make the most sandwiches. Ladles of Love is a food relief organisation so the sandwiches made go out into the community to the vulnerable and to the early childhood development (ECD centres.

The Sarmiethon figures brings the total number of sandwiches distributed by Ladles of Love to 4.5 million since the pandemic.

Ladles of Love raised funds at R10 a sandwich via the online store.

The public is invited to continue donating. Each donation helps Ladles of Love to feed a child in need two meals a day, extending the impact beyond just World Sandwich Day.
