City Power attended to an outage at the Rosebank substation which caught fire around 21:00 last night (November 17).

This resulted in a total loss of power to customers in Rosebank, Hyde Park, Houghton Estate, Parktown and the surrounding areas.

Fortunately, Johannesburg Emergency Services(EMS) confirmed that no injuries were reported.

“Feedeboard No.3 will remain off until the repairs are completed. Further updates will be communicated once the repairs are in progress,” said the power utility.
