Park care staff treat the elderly with a pirate-themed celebration

The centre is an NPO which provides 24-hour nursing care to frail long-term and short-term residents.

Park Care residents enjoyed a Pirates and the Caribbean-themed party held on November 11.

Park Care staff and family members adhered to the theme with their eye patches, boots and leather pants.

“It was a fun day for the residents and their family members. There were a few competitions and prizes which were won. We are very limited in the events we can host for our elderly but today was a success.”

Le Roux added that the residents are happy to have the party. She added that the event was a bonus one before their Christmas carols event but the centre usually celebrated special days, such as Valentine’s, Father’s and Mother’s days.
