Locals are invited to Pirates Club Bowls every Saturday

Pirates Club bowls take place every Saturday from 09:30-12:30 from ages 16 at R30 per person.

The Pirates Bowls Club hosted their first social bowls on January 20 in Greenside.

The bowls club chairperson, Steve Hollis said the bowls section has been running as long as the Pirates Club, ” I have been here since 2003 and always been part of bowls. The bowls is successful, for the last two years, the men have won the open trips division one of the Johannesburg Bowls Association and have approximately 40 members.”

Hollis added that the club would like to increase and double the number of members by the end of the year and is quite happy to teach new people how to bowl on Saturday mornings.

“It is not an old people’s sport, but good exercise and we are a friendly club. We will provide new members with balls and required coaching.”
