Hyde Park High school educator found hanging on school grounds

The schooling community is shocked by the deaths of an educator and a learner in separate incidents.

Matome Chiloane, the MEC for the Gauteng Department of Basic Education, is saddened by the death of a Grade 12 educator from Hyde Park High School on March 6.

Gauteng Department of Basic Education spokesperson, Steve Mabona said, “According to information at our disposal, the educator was allegedly found hanging on the sports grounds of the school on Wednesday morning (March 6). Paramedics certified him dead on arrival.”

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, according to Mabona.

He has said that more details will follow.
