Fluence Africa hosts its second influencer festival at Hill on Empire
Fluence Africa is closing the gap between influencers and brands.
Hill on Empire was abuzz on April 20 with different types of content creators and experts from various backgrounds who schooled the audience.
Founder of Fluence Africa, Jolene Roelofse explained that the event aimed to celebrate and empower content creators.
“Fluence has been working with nano and micro-influencers for six years, and we have seen two things over these years. Yes, it is easy to become a creator because all you need is a smartphone and data, however, it is difficult to access brands and space to shoot the content and access affordable and good videographers and photographers.”
Roelofse added that the company also realised there was a lack of knowledge on the influencers’ side because some have not spent time in businesses and don’t understand the marketing side of things and their role in marketing.
She added that the company is trying to curate a space where it could host these masterclasses with the different platforms and ultimately portray the message that it was not only about doing the brand campaign and posting appealing photos, but one could make money on the platforms.
Unilever PR leader, Anele Nzimande highlighted the importance of brands being part of such occasions, “Such occasions bring together people who are aspiring to become influencers and can directly engage with brands, which is something that doesn’t usually happen because we typically send a brief and product for a content creator to read and execute. This event closes the gap between influencers and brands.”
