St John’s College to host its 20th basketball tournament
This year's St John’s College Basketball Tournament features teams from Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and Zimbabwe, with tickets available via Webtickets.

St John’s College is thrilled to present its 20th St John’s College Basketball Tournament, brought to you by Standard Bank, from February 20–23. The biggest boys’ school basketball tournament in Southern Africa.
This year’s tournament features local schools, inter-provincial teams from the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, and KwaZulu-Natal, and teams from neighbouring Zimbabwe.

The U19 and U15 categories will follow a round-robin format, with the top teams advancing to the knockout stages, while the U13 divisions will compete in a festival format.
Tickets are priced at R50 and can be purchased through Webtickets or at the gate. For a premium courtside experience, limited VIP tickets are available for R200 per day.

Please note that, for your safety, St John’s College is a cashless environment. Only debit and credit cards will be accepted.
This four-day event promises fun for the whole family, with plenty to see and do. Enjoy a variety of food vendors, a bar area, a VIP lounge for courtside comfort, and chill out lounges in the basketball village to relax between games.
Executive headmaster of St John’s College Stuart West said it was a privilege to bring together talented teams for the St John’s College Basketball Tournament. “This event transcends competition. It embodies the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and our collective love for basketball. Engaging on the courts provides numerous lessons in character, from determination and resilience, to navigating success or setback with grace.”
West encouraged all players to embrace good sportsmanship, foster healthy competition, and uphold fairness throughout the tournament.
