Wanderers Racquets and Romance tournament brings the heat despite the rain
Love and competition served up a thrilling Valentine’s Day padel tournament.
Love was in full swing at the Racquets and Romance American Padel Tournament at the Wanderers Club on February 13, where passion for the game met the spirit of the day.
Despite a moody sky and an unexpected downpour, the courts were alive with competitive energy, laughter, and a sea of red, pink, and white-clad players determined to make the most of the day.

The air was thick with excitement (and just a little rain), but no drizzle could dampen the spirits of these dedicated padel lovers. From thrilling rallies to light-hearted banter, the event proved that padel isn’t just a game – it’s a community.
Though the weather eventually called an early end to the matches, the camaraderie and fun continued off the courts. Kelly Ellison, the padel manager at Wanderers Club, was thrilled by the turnout and the energy of the players.

“It was so much fun seeing everyone in their Valentine’s Day attire, playing with such energy and spirit. Even though the rain cut the matches short, our players still rallied in the face of the rain. The vibe was incredible, filled with laughter. The players brought a lovely energy and left feeling excited for the next tournament, which we cannot wait for.”
The night ended with players already looking forward to their next chance to hit the courts, hopefully under clearer skies.
