Johannesburg Development Agency CEO inspects library

This inspection happened as the Johannesburg City Library concludes their phase 2 restorations of the remaining floors, mechanical systems, and fire safety infrastructure, preparing for the full opening of the library.

In preparation for the upcoming phase 2 completion, Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) CEO Themba Mathibe conducted an oversight visit to the Johannesburg City Library, on July 11, to inspect work undertaken on the extractor fans in the third-floor basement and gas fire suppression.

With phase 1 successfully completed, and the ground floor and children’s section already open to the public, the focus is on restoring the remaining floors, mechanical systems, fire safety infrastructure, and heritage features, which is all part of bringing the full library back to life.
