Netcare Milpark Hospital saddened by shooting in parking lot

The motive for the Netcare Milpark Hospital shooting is still unknown.

Netcare Milpark Hospital confirmed the death of a member of the public after a shooting incident occurred on the evening of October 1 in the hospital parking lot.

Local police Captain, Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed that SAPS had opened a case of murder.

“On behalf of the staff and management, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. While we cannot share further details, the hospital is committed to assisting the police with their investigation,” noted Lynne O’Connor, the national spokesperson of Netcare.

O’Connor added that the hospital would offer counselling services to the family and witnesses of the incident.

Sibeko said the police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the motive was unknown.

“No arrest has been made, and investigations are underway.”
