The Gazette, on October 6, was alerted to a fire at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in Parktown.
Upon the arrival of the reporter, it was business as usual. The hospital was assisting patients in various wards with no signs of a fire, smoke or any damage to the facility.

According to reports, a patient had allegedly set the fire, but it was contained before any damage could happen.
