Nicole said, although the announcement caught her off guard, she welcomed the responsibility. “It has been my goal to be in a position where I could help be the voice for people who aren’t able to express themselves, so it is a blessing to be put in this position.”

She noted that the school prides itself in ensuring every voice is heard, when it comes to the voting of the new president or vice president. “Every grade is given the chance to vote for who they believe would be the best candidate for the role. All votes are taken into account, but weighted differently, based on the learners of each grade. Teachers and staff aren’t allowed to vote.”
The 2026 vice president added that, although she has not been in any major leadership roles, she has been given the opportunity to be an ambassador within her registration class for the past three years. “It is a smaller role, which teaches leadership through action, and operates through the representative council of learners.”
