Broken stormwater drain on Corlett Drive a safety hazard
The publication first reported on an excavation which took months to repair.
The repair work at 192 Corlett Drive in Bramley View is still incomplete, with the pavement and stormwater drain now adding to the road’s poor condition and unsightly appearance.
On November 26, a journalist visited the site and found wet rubble, traffic cones, and a broken barricade attempting to block off the damaged stormwater drain. The drain currently affects one of the lanes on Corlett Drive, making the road hazardous.

This follows earlier reporting on an open excavation that had remained unattended for two months before being repaired by the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA). It is unclear what caused the stormwater drain to break after the excavation and road were fixed.
The publication has contacted the JRA for comment and will update the story once a response is received.
