Rosebank SAPS prioritises visibility in schools

Rosebank Primary School praises Rosebank SAPS visibility and efficiency.

In efforts to encourage good societal behaviour from the grassroots level, Rosebank SAPS’ officers, Visual Policing (Vispol) Commander Captain Ndivhuwo Mulaudzi and Social Crime Prevention officer Sergeant Phophi Nguni, visited Rosebank Primary School on January 15.

The school’s acting principal, Yurisa Rugununan, welcomed the officers and commended the relationship the school maintained with SAPS.

“Whenever we’ve had instances that required the police, we could always rely on them to intervene. They are not only visible but efficient and helpful; their visibility is very important because we want to maintain good standards in terms of discipline at the school,” said Rugununan.

During a Grade R classroom visit, Nguni stressed the importance of learners speaking up if they were unhappy or faced challenges at school.

Mulaudzi concluded that constant visibility was not only important in the community but in schools as well.

“We visited grades R, 2 and 7 classes, and our main objective is to encourage good behaviour in learners, tell them crime doesn’t pay, discourage bullying and stay away from drugs. This is important to us as SAPS because they are children who are part of our policing community.”
