His early days in basketball were humble. Starting in the 14C team, Kaseba worked tirelessly to refine his skills, earning promotion to the 14A and B squads. By Grade 10, his persistence paid off when he secured a place in the first team. One of his most cherished memories remains the moment he scored his first points after enduring a scoreless debut season, a turning point that transformed frustration into motivation.
“Seeing my own progress inspired me,” he said. “It made me realise that hard work truly pays off.”
Today, Kaseba plays as a point guard, a role that demands leadership, composure and sharp decision-making. Tasked with controlling the pace of the game and guiding his teammates, he thrives on responsibility. For him, teamwork is not optional; it is essential.
“If there’s no trust and unity, everything falls apart,” he explained. “Basketball is about working together, reading each other and staying connected on the court.”
His ability to orchestrate play was on full display in a standout performance where he racked up a remarkable number of assists while still contributing crucial points. It was a moment that confirmed his growth, not just as a player, but as a leader.

Preparation is central to Kaseba’s routine. Physically, he trains consistently and fits in light shooting practice before games to sharpen his rhythm. Mentally, he draws inspiration from the words and journeys of elite athletes, particularly Stephen Curry. However, his greatest influence remains the late Kobe Bryant.
“Kobe’s ‘Mamba Mentality’ speaks to me,” he said. “It’s about relentless hard work, discipline, and never settling for less than your best.”
Like many young athletes, Kaseba has faced periods of uncertainty. Adjusting to the demands of the point guard position brought moments of self-doubt and tough performances. Yet, these challenges became lessons in resilience, teaching him to trust himself and stay committed through difficult phases.
Looking ahead, Kaseba has his sights set firmly on the future. His immediate goal is to secure a basketball scholarship to further his studies, ideally in a finance-related field. Beyond that, he dreams of playing professional basketball, blending academic ambition with sporting excellence.
