Maritzburg College snatch dramatic win over St Alban’s in U15 water polo thriller

A gripping encounter on day three of the Parktown Boys Indigo U15 water polo tournament saw Maritzburg College produce a stunning late comeback to edge St Alban’s by a single goal.

The Parktown Boys Indigo U15 water polo tournament continues to deliver high-intensity action, with one of the standout matches of day three seeing Maritzburg College claim a dramatic 5–4 victory over St Alban’s.

Both teams took to the pool with a clear purpose, determined to represent their schools with pride.

St Alban’s made the brighter start, opening the scoring and setting an assertive tempo that put Maritzburg under early pressure. Their sharp movement and quick ball circulation kept the opposition on the back foot.

Maritzburg, however, showed impressive resilience, gradually settling into the contest and responding with disciplined defence and calculated attacking play. Despite their efforts, they entered the third quarter trailing by three goals, with St Alban’s firmly in control.

Refusing to concede defeat, Maritzburg raised the intensity in the closing stages, producing a spirited fightback that electrified the atmosphere around the pool.
