St Mary’s School, Waverley learner and equestrian aspires to represent SA internationally
Arabella-Rose Pearce received an award for the highest points in her category.
St Mary’s School, Waverley learner and equestrian, Arabella-Rose Pearce, who is preparing for the Kyalami Park Club (KPC) and the Maple Ridge SA President’s Cup, dreams of representing SA on the international stage at the Longines Global Champions Tour.
Arabella-Rose shared that her relationship with horses began when she was only four years old. “I was that child who constantly begged my parents for pony rides on every family holiday. I began lessons at age nine, and that magic I felt as a toddler developed into a love for the sport.”
The Grade 8 learner said she trained four times a week with her coach Micheal Bloom, at London Lane.

“Two days are allocated for jumping, and the other two days are flatwork. I am currently developing an exciting new partnership with my beautiful mare Callaho Liana, and we are still in the early stages of our journey together, but I am excited for the season this year with my girl.”

Arabella-Rose’s accolades included qualifying for Sanesa Nationals for two consecutive years and being honoured to receive the Victor Ludorum award for the highest points in her category.
“I was also selected to represent the Gauteng Team for the 2025 SA Youth Championships. I would also like to praise the horses that helped me achieve these awards, Winter Ash and Koko. They taught me so much.
She concluded that her main focus was showjumping, equitation and dressage, but enjoyed learning new disciplines and tricks in the sport and planned on doing showing.
