From self-acceptance to self-realisation: a transformative one-day retreat
In today’s fast-paced world, where external demands and expectations often overwhelm us, many long for a space to pause, breathe, and simply be.
Recognising this need, the Brahma Kumaris Johannesburg invites you to a unique retreat entitled “From Self- Acceptance to Self-Realisation,” taking place on Saturday, 27th September 2025, from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm at 28 Judith Street, Observatory.
This retreat offers more than just a break from daily routine. It is an invitation to turn inward—to meet yourself with kindness, embracing both your strengths and imperfections. Too often, self-acceptance is spoken of as a concept or an ideal, but here it becomes an experience: something to be felt, lived, and integrated into daily life.
Through the healing power of art in a meditative environment, participants will explore how creativity can open doors to self-understanding and personal transformation. Art in this context is not about skill or technique, but about expression—a gentle way to connect with emotions, release inner tensions, and touch the stillness that lies beneath.
This supportive space encourages participants to reconnect with themselves, with the Divine, and with the quiet reservoir of peace that is always within reach.
Guiding the retreat will be International Guest, Ella Saarinen, a dynamic facilitator from Finland whose work bridges spirituality, meditation, and creative exploration. With 17 years of experience in Raja Yoga practice and teaching, Ella brings both depth and warmth to her sessions. She coordinates Brahma Kumaris activities in Finland and leads talks, workshops, and retreats across the globe. Her approach is both practical and uplifting, offering tools for participants to integrate into their daily lives long after the retreat ends.
The Brahma Kumaris, a worldwide spiritual movement dedicated to personal transformation and world renewal, has been active in South Africa for decades, offering courses, lectures, and meditation programs. True to its ethos of inclusivity and service, this retreat is free of charge and open to all, regardless of background or experience. If you’ve been seeking a way to deepen your self-understanding, find greater peace, or reconnect with your inner strength, this retreat may be the perfect opportunity.
