“On November 13, we’re hosting a blind bowlers’ day here. The top six or eight of the blind bowlers will be playing in an effort to raise awareness of their ability to play and to raise funds for the national team of blind bowlers going to Australia next year. Another three or four of our teams will be playing league this year, which starts on November 19.”

She said that visually impaired bowlers are usually assisted by a director who informs the bowler of the type of shot that is required and gives direction concerning the distance, line and weight of the shot he or she needs to play.

Currently, at about 60 members, Benjamin said the club is welcoming new members and there would be coaching available even for those who have never bowled.
