African anime is inspired by local perspectives

The Disney + production premiered on June 21 and is set to hit the Disney + channel on July 5.

It became a warm winter’s night when the animated sci-fi anthology Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire premiered at Illovo.

The Disney + production premiered on June 21 and is set to hit the Disney + channel on July 5. Executive producers of the production are Peter Ramsey, Tendayi Nyeke and Anthony Silverston. 14 up-and-coming directors hailing from across Africa are featured in the film collection.

Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire is a Disney+ original ten-part collection of premium original animated short films which presents ten futuristic visions from Africa, inspired by the continent’s diverse histories and cultures. A new generation of animation creators draws on uniquely African perspectives to imagine brave new worlds of advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters.
