Nearly 3 000 people attend Wanderers Club Family Festival
In celebration of its 135th birthday, Wanderers Club was graced with nearly 3 000 participants at their Fun Family Festival.
The Wanderers Club held a Fun Family Festival in celebration of its 135th birthday. The club offered attendees live performances by Just Jinger’s Brent Harris and Thee Jam. Giant inflatable slides, a roller-skating rink, bungee trampolines, a mechanical bull, stilt walkers, balloon sculptors and so much more were activities available for the whole family. There was also some great sports action as players battled it on the court for first place in the Wanderers Club Padel Tournament.

CEO of The Wanderers Club Sonja Shear said the Wanderers Club’s 135th birthday is a huge milestone and testament to the club’s incredible long-standing history. He said it was the first time the club had put on an event of this kind and size, and they were overwhelmed by the support with an attendance of nearly 3 000 people.

“Feedback from reviews provided post-event, have been very positive and generally speaking, the public is asking for a repeat of this event next year, which shows us it was well received and enjoyed by all. Overall, this event helped position The Wanderers Club as a great, safe, friendly, fun family environment offering 14 different sports so everyone in the family can get involved in sports and fitness.

“Our primary purpose lies in building and maintaining a community that is respectful, welcoming, non-discriminatory, safe and fun – values that we have cherished for an exceptional 135 years.”
