Johannesburg’s spectacular weekend: Red Bull racing and vibrant road running

The streets of Sandton came alive with the Red Bull Showrun, while the SPAR Women’s Challenge brought local runners together in a festive atmosphere.

This weekend’s Red Bull Showrun electrified Sandton as former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard took the iconic Red Bull Racing F1 car for a spin, thrilling enthusiasts in Johannesburg’s bustling financial hub.

At the same time, the SPAR Women’s Challenge witnessed Glenrose Xaba taking the lead with a time of 00:32:48 minutes amid a lively gathering of about 10 000 runners at Mark’s Park Sports Club.

Also marking the weekend, the St John’s College Tutu Walk in Rosebank paid tribute to the incredible life of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, further enriching the community spirit.
