Nicarela Charity distributed over R7 million in the past 15 years
Nicarela Charity's potjiekos and Christmas market are instrumental in their fundraising efforts
Nicarela Charity extends heartfelt thanks to the community for their incredible support this past year as the festive season draws near.
The chairman of Nicarela Charity, Daneel Jordaan said for the past 15 years, with the dedication of their volunteers, they had donated more than R7 million to deserving beneficiaries around Johannesburg, an initiative made possible only by the community’s unwavering support.
“Events like the Parkview Potjiekos Competition and the popular Parkview Christmas Market have been instrumental in our fundraising efforts. Starting with only 1 000 visitors, the Christmas Market now draws over 6 000 attendees in a single weekend. We are immensely grateful to the stallholders, vendors, donors, and visitors who contributed to the vibrant spirit and success of this cherished event.”

The people of Parkview have embraced Nicarela’s mission as a community responsibility, supporting those in need with great enthusiasm.
“Through our fundraising, Nicarela has been able to support organisations such as Guild Cottage, Bethany House Foundation, The Living Link, REEA Foundation, and MES.
“We are also proud to offer bursaries to Parktown High School for Girls, ensuring that our impact extends to youth development,” added Jordaan.

The Covid-19 pandemic forced the charity to put its events on hold and severely curtailed its ability to support its beneficiaries.
The Nicarela chairman said as we approached the season of giving ‘we are especially grateful for the kindness that enables us to uplift those who need it most’. “Contributions whether big or small, make a tangible difference.”
Nicarela Charity wishes the community a joyful and peaceful festive season.
