Hyde Johannesburg Rosebank’s clean-up leaves brighter
Hyde Johannesburg Rosebank staff are motivated by their ‘Part of Something Bigger’ philosophy.
Hyde Johannesburg Rosebank staff rolled up their sleeves on November 13 for a community clean-up that stretched from the hotel on Cradock Avenue to Jellicoe Avenue.
Led by the hotel’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) team in collaboration with Rosebank Mall management, the initiative saw staff members tackling litter and brightening up the neighbourhood that Hyde feels increasingly connected to since opening its doors in September 2024.

“We’re not just a hotel in Rosebank; we’re part of Rosebank,” said Jessica Redinger, general manager of Hyde Johannesburg Rosebank. “Our guests and crew are out here every day, whether it’s joining local club runs, grabbing coffee at neighbourhood spots, or simply soaking up the vibes. This clean-up was about showing pride in the streets we share.”

It also reflects Hyde’s ‘Part of Something Bigger’ philosophy, a brand pillar which centres on connecting people with causes that matter and building meaningful community ties.
Charity Mabuza, the hotel’s ESG lead and rooms division manager, said the partnership with Rosebank Mall management demonstrated what can be achieved when everyone contributes.
“The local galleries, shops, restaurants and residents give this area its character. There’s something special about Rosebank. We wanted to play our part, be active citizens, and make a real difference,” concluded Mabuza.
