Able Stitch trainees, many of whom have experienced life on the streets, made Christmas stockings, lovingly sewn for each of the children at the home. Inside were essential items specifically requested by the orphanage, ensuring that the gifts met the children’s needs. The joy on their faces as the stockings were handed out was unforgettable, with laughter and excitement filling the home. Director Lizzy Strydom said: “All the children were so happy to receive their Christmas stockings.”

Able Stitch not only provides these meaningful gifts; they focus on giving trainees a pathway to a better future. “Our mission is to up-skill vulnerable people so they can have a positive impact on the lives of children in communities across Johannesburg. Some of our trainees have even found permanent employment in Pretoria, but we still need the community’s help to secure accommodation for them.”
This small act of kindness has left a lasting impact on both the children and those helping to make their Christmas brighter.
