For heaven’s sake

MARYVALE - Surely they could have spent their time on Louis Botha Avenue, a few meters away, looking for and ticketing the real traffic offenders.

The former Chief Rabbi of South Africa, The late Rabbi Cyril Harris, published a book entitled, For Heaven’s Sake.

With these words I ask myself what right did Metro police have to issue traffic tickets to motorists parked outside a church on a Sunday?

These people were praying and the Metro officers saw a captive audience and ticketed.

I ask myself:

Have they issued tickets during the week outside this church? Why did they decide to do it on a day when people go to church? Did they have nothing else to do? Were they trying to meet a budget?

Surely they could have spent their time on Louis Botha Avenue, a few meters away, looking for and ticketing the real traffic offenders.
