This letter is in response to article “Pros of paid parking” published in the week ending 13 February.
Why is parking the only issue in Greenside?
I have yet to see any speed bumps or speed regulatory signs anywhere along Greenway or Gleneagle, where week after week, these roads are treated like race tracks, especially after a wild night out in Greenside.
A tuk tuk station at Pirates?
The place already looks run down and makes the area look derelict. Would it not encourage other transport owners to conduct their business from there as well?
No to tuk tuk.
Nice, a taxi rank in our suburbs. I think this would encourage crime, filth, as with these stations always comes a pavement of litter, look at how they so quickly turn into panel beaters [and] window tinting specialists setting up shop, before you know it, the creep that has taken over Gleneagles Road will eat into our suburbs, as nothing has been done about the filth and shoddiness of Gleneagles Road.
Trees hacked illegally, bins overloaded, to let signs everywhere, general disgrace.
Certain shop owners just don’t care for their pavements and should be fined.
Weeds like trees. I… feel for those who do try so hard and do abide [by the law] and keep their bit clean. Go on you. Sure they are fed up too of seeing all this happening around them.
