LETTER: Pavements too narrow in Sydenham, hampering driving

Devon Jankis writes:

Drivers in Sydenham and drivers heading through Sydenham need to realise that the walls of properties are too close to the road, there is no space between the pavements and the road. This hampers drivers’ visibility to see traffic coming either from the left or the right.

I am urging drivers to be aware of this problem and take caution when driving. I would also like to urge homeowners to keep their pavements clean with the small space. And having plants grown on the pavement, visibility becomes a huge issue.

There are too many incidents where drivers edge forward only to clip a car and cause a huge accident. Please be aware of this problem and take caution when it comes to trying to see whether it is safe to cross roads.
