Elande Alberton Rugby Club dominates game against Wanderers Rugby Club

After losing to Elande Alberton Rugby Club, Wanderers Rugby Club aims to improve in upcoming games, in order to qualify for the playoffs.

Elande Alberton Rugby Club claimed victory against Wanderers Rugby Club on June 27, winning 43–25.

Supporters filled the stadium’s stands. braving the cold front, to watch their respective teams battle it out in Illovo. Elande Alberton Rugby Club dominated the game, while Wanderers Rugby Club tried to catch up, but eventually lost to their opponents.

Shane Kirkwood, Elande Alberton Rugby Club’s captain, was happy with the team’s performance. “We performed as anticipated. Well done to Wanderers as well, because they put up a good fight and are quality players. As Alberton Rugby Club, we’re on track, which makes us happy and looking forward to our next game.”

Busanda Mabaso, Wanderers Rugby Club’s captain, said: “We let ourselves down today. The energy was low and non-existent. I don’t think our heads were in the game. We missed a lot of opportunities as a team and as individuals.”

Mabaso noted that, as it stood, the team had to win their upcoming games in order to qualify for playoffs. “Moving forward as a team, we are aiming for improvement. I want to see us play winning rugby and get the spark that we lost back.”
