St John’s crowned Gauteng squash champions
HOUGHTON – St Johns' College is crowned squash champions.
The St John’s College’s squash team was declared champions after beating top Gauteng schools in a squash tournament recently.
The boys managed to beat King Edward VII, Parktown High School, St Stithians College and the invitational Egoli team.
The team will now represent St John’s and Gauteng at the National Top Schools Tournament in Pietermaritzburg in July.
Mark Farmer, master in charge of squash at the school, said St John’s won the tournament because of many hours of hard work and commitment. “This past weekend, they showed tremendous character while at all times playing in the true spirit of squash,” he said.
