Women to tackle stress disorder
Participants will have half an hour hypnosis to find peace
Dvori Blumenau, an educational psychologist, is inviting women to attend a health talk aimed at tackling depression and anxiety in females.
The session will be held in Sydenham on 1 July in the morning and concerned women, with an interest in the topic, are welcome to attend.
Blumenau, a psychologist with special interest and experience in trauma, nightmares, anxiety, bereavement and phobias, among other disorders, said she will dedicate the session to women only.
She said the focus will be on: Help my child/myself overcome anxiety and depression.
Asked why, Blumenau said, “It’s because women are highly prone because of their hormonal sensitivity.”
She said there will also be other activities during the session to help mothers, even girls, to deal with this mental burden.
“It is going to be a holistic session but more than that it will be practical.
“I will also put them on 35 to 40 minutes of hypnosis, but they’re uncompelled, just to help build their inner strength and enable them a positive self-talk,” said Blumenau.
Based on her research, Blumenau said it shows that when a mother is depressed, there’s a 50 per cent risk that their children would also be depressed.
The specialist urged women to take an opportunity and attend this session which is intended to provide them with the necessary abilities to handle their challenges.
Blumenau is organising another session to be held on 9 July in the evening to teach people how to have inner peace.
