Regomoditswe Children’s Home enjoys Fun Day

SEBOKENG. – Regomoditswe Children’s Home serves a critical role in providing care for children without parents, those who have been abused, and those living with parents facing mental challenges.

Recently, the home organised a heartwarming event where the children were generously provided with sanitary towels.

The primary goal of the fun day was to allow the children to step out of their usual environment and enjoy themselves outdoors. With children ranging from 1 to 18 years old, the focus of the event centered on promoting wellness, fitness, and mental health.

Through activities aimed at educating the children about the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, they were also encouraged to interact with individuals beyond their immediate circle.

Aerobics was one of the activities that were done, promoting wellness, fitness, and mental health.

The event drew a large crowd of community members, including many young people, who gathered to share in the joy and fun with the children of Regomoditswe.

The Repent Campaign also participated, generously donating sanitary towels to the girls at the home.

Lindiwe Dys, speaking to Sedibeng Ster, expressed her humble dedication to the children at Regomoditswe, emphasising that her care for them stems from a place of genuine love. Through her bond with the children, she highlighted the natural connection formed through her affection for them.

Children were interacting well with the individuals beyond their immediate surroundings.

The home receives support from both local community members and private donors who contribute clothing, shoes, toys, food, and more. For food supplies, they rely on two food banks: Food Forward, which delivers once a month, and Jackson’s, which donates every Friday.

Their ultimate aspiration is to see the children succeed in life, as evidenced by their recent achievement of their first child completing matric and pursuing further studies in Cape Town.

Phumla Mxabangeli-Madona (46) of the Repent Campaign shared:

“We were introduced to Regomoditswe Children’s Home through Nayomi Magagula, the founder of Repent, who has a deep affection for the children and regularly welcomes them into the church. This day holds significant meaning for me, especially for the children living at the home. Each child has their unique challenges and personalities, and I find great fulfillment in working with them.”
