Environmental Health Day celebration

Environmental health practitioners, Pickitup Rangers and the Ward 57 councillor raised awareness to the general public.

JOHANNESBURG – The Environmental Health Office Region F celebrated Environmental Health Day on Tuesday September 16 in La Rochelle.

They did so with an aim to create a good working relationship with the community in the fight against illegal dumping. Environmental health practitioners, Pickitup Rangers and the Ward 57 councillor raised awareness to the general public on environmental health issues as an essential service towards the prevention of disease and protection of public health.

The following were carried out:

1. House to house health education about illegal dumping.

2. A clean-up campaign at the park with members of the community.

3. Health education to the community about illegal dumping, climate chance and the importance of taking care of their environment.
