Teens receive amazing grace at confirmation

Joy was the order of the day at confirmation of seven teens from Amazing Grace in Eikenhof

EIKENHOF – Amazing Grace Children’s home celebrated a special event on April 12 when a total of seven teenagers were confirmed with the help of Grace of God ministries.

Founder of the children’s home, Grace Mashaba or rather Ma Grace as she is affectionately known, was overwhelmed with emotion on the day as she was commended by Apostle Michael Dimba for the amazing work she does.

Ma Grace has been through hardships of her own, having grown up an orphan herself and experienced sexual violence at the hands of her guardian. The loving touch she brings to children at the home could be attributed to her own personal struggles as a child.

“I would like to thank God for giving me the strength, power and passion, because it’s not easy to raise children who come to the home as young as one day old. The support I get from the community and people who drop in and provide assistance. Most of my kids have grown up and are working, married and have landed good managerial positions at their jobs,” said Ma Grace.

Community Evangelist of Grace of God ministries, Joseph Philander, said: “The majority of orphans, since they came to the orphanage, have been attending Sunday school and grew up attending church services. This is the time when they’re getting confirmed as adults; from children to adults.”

Apostle Michael Dimba said: “The arrangement is super, this is an indication from the heavenly Father that Jesus is there for them.”

Some of the children who have been raised at Amazing Grace are now teachers, nurses, farmers and the list goes on. Ma Grace bursts with pride at the achievements of her children.
