18 children injured after a bus rolled

A shocking accident has left many hearts broken as South Africans read about children who had to climb out of the wreckage of the bus after it rolled on the N4 in Mpumalanga.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing reported that the 18 children sustained minor and moderate injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.

The cause of the accident is still not clear but The Sowetan reported that Provincial education department spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, said the accident happened after the bus driver reportedly failed to apply the brakes after a terrible smell from the engine.
