Fitness fund-raiser for Mandela Day

The Fitness League held a Fun Fundraiser for Mandela Day on the morning of Saturday, July 16.

THE Fitness League held a fun fund-raiser to celebrate Mandela Day. A 67 minute class was held at Roosevelt Park Recreation Centre and was a big success. The entrance fee was R40.00 or more and a donation of a children’s book for a child literacy charity.

About 50 people attended and six of the league teachers participated by doing low impact exercises, floor work, dance moves and stretches to finish. After each teacher’s segment, there was a lucky draw with gifts which were kindly donated by Spar Superstores.

Tea and a delicious variety of cakes and savories were served at the end of the event. A Roosevelt member won the draw for the leisure hamper. A total of R3 070 was raised.
