Unbearable living conditions for local resident

Living with a blocked toilet that keeps overflowing, the upset woman said this happens every second or third month.

AMANDA Jacobs is a 51-year-old resident of Jasper Court in Bellavista who has been living with a blocked toilet drain since earlier this month (April).

DISGUSTING: The blocked toilet that cannot be used and keeps overflowing.

Living with a blocked toilet that keeps overflowing, the upset woman spoke to the COURIER saying that this happens every second or third month.

FLOODED: The bathroom flooded with faeces.

With little to no money to replace this fault, Jacobs found herself in a desperate attempt to get back to living in a civilised condition. With this in mind she reported the matter to the local councillors as well as the flat manager.

Living there alone for about 16 years now, Jacobs made contact with ward 57 councillor, Faeeza Chame, who listened to her problem and is in the process of helping her. Jacobs said she is thankful for this.

APPALLING: The state of the bathroom.

However, her ward councillor Rashieda Landis (ward 55) said nothing can be promised and that she will try and get the flat manager to assist, as a plumber is what is needed.
