Hoodwinked pensioner helped

There are other good Samaritans who are also willing to help Ronnie. The COURIER will keep the readers updated.

SOUTHERN COURIER has been inundated with calls from good Samaritans who want to help Crown Garden’s pensioner Ronnie Fick (80) who was crooked out of R1 000 by a ‘mechanic’.

A mechanic promised to fix a diff of his bakkie back in November last year and up to date, he is nowhere to be found.

One of the good Samaritans, Richard Judge from Airconditioning Hospital in Ridgeway, gave Ronnie R1 000 as his donation towards the fixing of the bakkie. He also promised Ronnie that he will send a real mechanic to have a look at it.

“I was deeply touched by what happened to Ronnie. For a pensioner that is a lot of money to be taken just like that. What they did to him was bad. We are a regular advertiser in Southern COURIER and as a company we thought this would be a good gesture,” explained Richard.

Ronnie thanked the COURIER for doing his story and he also thanked Richard for giving him the money.
