100 loaves for Takalani Home
The home has been struggling to meet the needs of its vulnerable residents since both departments have not been paying for the past two months.

DA Ward 23 Councillor Sarah Wissler, with the help of local bakery owner Daniella Tuna, recently donated 100 loaves of bread to Takalani Home which takes care of 58 mentally ill patients, most of which are children.
This comes after Wissler was disturbed by the news that the home, which is dependent on subsidies which it receives from the Department of Social Development and the Gauteng Health Department, had not been paid, meaning they have no food.

The home has been struggling to meet the needs of its vulnerable residents since both departments have not been paying for the past two months.
“This drove me to take action and I welcomed being joined by Daniella Tuna, a local resident who owns a bakery,” she said.
“She assisted by donating 100 loaves of bread, biscuits, coffee, mielie meal and other items, in addition to all that the DA was already donating. I want to thank her so much for her continuous support.”
“I was so upset to learn the home did not have food because Government had not paid its grants,” she said.
Wissler said she was proud to be a councillor in a ward that has a community of people who care for one another.
