Turffontein WiFi spot enables residents to apply for work
Wifi spot helps residents to apply for jobs when they are out of data.
FROM as early as 7am, Turffontein residents are at Turffontein Fire Station to get access to the internet to apply for jobs and do school admissions.
The Wifi spot has been there since last year and students also benefit from it, as they do their homework and school assignments. Residents are even able to stream live games from the Fifa World Cup.
Residents claim that being able to connect has helped many in finding employment. Not only people from Turffontein benefit from this spot, even some Booysens and Rosettenville residents visit the spot to get connected.
Roger Mutubi from Turffontein said: “This place is quiet and peaceful. I enjoy coming here and I often watch videos on Youtube. We as the residents of Turffontein see this as our second home because if I am bored at home I just come here. People who are battling with data can come here.”
