Suspect gets four years jail time following house robbery in Turffontein

Booysens SAPS sergeant’s hard work resulted in suspect be sentenced.

ONE suspect was found guilty and sentenced to fours years direct imprisonment following a house robbery committed on May 23, in Turffontein.

This sentencing comes after a victim residing in Turffontein reported to the Booysens SAPS that two males broke into his flat and took a plasma TV and a refuse bag containing clothing.

According to the victim, on the day of the robbery he locked all doors and windows of his flat and proceeded to work but during the day his neighbour called him telling him she just saw two black males jumping over the boundary wall carrying what looked like a plasma TV and bag.

After the victim rushed to his house to check what’s missing, he was tipped off about where one of the suspects lives.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t find the suspect when he went to the suspect’s house but on his way back home he spotted two males carrying suspicious belongings. On his attempt to question the individuals they fled leaving everything behind. He then took back his belongings and drove off. On his arrival at home he called the police and explained everything.

Sgt Edmond Rangwanasha followed up the information on the suspect and made the arrest. All relevant statements and documentation were obtained and the docket was placed on the roll at court.
