Letters to go all the way to Scotland

Coldingham’s learners were thrilled to receive the letters and were very impressed with Marist Brothers Linmeyer.

AT the end of 2018, Marist Brothers Linmeyer’s Grade Five learners wrote letters, decorated with borders in Ndebele patterns, as part of their English work. They had learnt about Ndebele designs in Creative Art.

During a visit to Scotland, the United Kingdom, Vanessa Anderson, Grade Five English teacher, delivered the letters and a copy of Marist Brothers Linmeyer’s school magazine to the learners of Coldingham Primary School.

Anderson was invited to speak to the learners about the school. Coldingham’s learners were thrilled to receive the letters and were very impressed with Marist Brothers Linmeyer. The school hopes this will be the beginning of a long correspondence.

Over the years, Anderson has taken letters to Applecross Primary School in Skye, Plockton, Longridge Towers in England, Eyemouth Primary School in Eyemouth and Marian College in Dublin.
