Truth and Life Celebration Church gives to the homeless

Church lending a hand to the community.

EVERY Wednesday those in need flock to Truth and Life Celebration Church in their numbers for vegetable packs and lunch.

The church in Moffat View which has been helping the less fortunate for a number of years. This time they put a little spin on the normal feeding scheme.

On July 3, the church invited other people from all walks of life, including police officers, pastors, the ward councillor and community leaders, to join them.

Guests and the regular visitors to the feeding scheme were treated to biryani, salads, dessert, drinks and, of course, the vegetable packs for those in need.

Pastor Priscilla Chetty said as a church they want to reach out to the community in many ways.

“This church is for the community and we want people to come here and treat this as their home.

People ready to receive food.

“Most of the young people are trapped in substance abuse and teenage pregnancy. So as a church we try to assist those people and what we want now is to nurture their talents. In this area, we have people with skills and talent and we want them to use their talent in the church,” said Chetty.

Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame said this is one of most the amazing churches because it seeks to help the community.

“Having churches like these really help fight poverty and substance abuse in the area,” said Chame.
