LISTEN: City of Johannesburg mayor joins residents for a clean-up campaign

The residents were joined by Mayor Geoff Makhubo.

City of Johannesburg mayor Geoff Makhubo and councillor Mongameni Mnyameni joined the residents of Ward 124 in Turffontein in a clean-up campaign on January 25.

Residents came together at Rotunda Park to embark in teams to clean the streets of the area.

The concerned residents went about cleaning the streets of rubbish and rubble and stacked the rubbish together for the municipality to remove.

“We need to speak to people to change their attitude towards the environment,” said Mayor Makhubo.

“Cleanliness is next to godliness,” he added.
