Trinity House makes a difference

"During these tough times, we are pleased to do whatever we can to help the people who are in need."

Trinity House in Glenvista started a project called Make a Difference Day (MAD).

Speaking to the principal of the school, Jacky de Blocq, she said with this initiative they worked with their pre-primary and foundation phase children to celebrate Mandela Day.

“Each child put together a jar of hope during the school day. Each jar contains a mixture of a soup, which is ready to cook.”

She added, “Plus, we collected blankets for the underprivileged and also where it is most needed. During these tough times we are pleased to do whatever we can to help the people who are in need,” she said.

De Blocq said this was an idea from her Grade One teacher who copied an idea through social media and aimed to do the same with their school.

“We decided to implement it at the school where we involve our pre-primary and our foundation phase and the support was overwhelming.

“A big thank you to our parents and our teachers for all their love and support, we couldn’t have done this without them,” she said.

They will be handing the jars and blankets out to those who are in need and also bringing love and hope.
