Dance group fights social ills in Moffat View

The dance school doesn't have rehearsal space at the moment.

Leah’s Dance Academy in Moffat View is looking for community support to help young girls.

The academy is a dance school, which was started by Leatea Wilson in 2004.

“When I started this dance school I was trying to keep the children off the street and do something constructive that they love. I use the parking space in front of my block for rehearsals.

“Most of these children only have one parent who is working and has since Covid-19 started it has been harder and more unpredictable, making it difficult to get sponsors. We need food parcels we can distribute to them and other children, as well as school uniforms and costumes to continue with performances,” she said.
