City Power attending to power outages in Rosettenville
There have been sporadic electricity protests lately in Rosettenville because of power outages.
City Power has promised to attend to these power interruptions. City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said there are two incidents in Rosettenville.
“In one incident, City Power lead cables burnt in one of the electrical chambers due to overloading. In the other incident, multiple faults have occurred on the distributors that are supplying the other part of Rosettenville.
“City Power contractors are repairing the burnt cables in the chamber, while internal technicians have just finished repairing one of the two distributors.
“They are repairing the second distributor and once that has been done, power will be restored. The estimated time of restoration is not available from teams working on site.
“City Power urges all its customers to use power sparingly, as plugging in numerous appliances at the same time causes overloading, which then leads to the tripping of the electricity grid.
“Load-shedding is also contributing to challenges, as our technicians are stretched between unplanned power outages and operationalising load-shedding,” explained Mangena.
